Ariela Parisi
The earner of this badge is a graduate student in the School of Graduate Studies who applied and was accepted to the Mentoring for Social Justice and Community-Building Project, a one-year guided mentoring initiative organized by SGS and Douglass College. The graduate students who earned this badge attended workshops and peer support sessions on social justice approaches to mentoring, designed a year-long mentoring project that advances social justice and community engagement, and facilitated monthly mentoring dialogues aligned with that project with 3-4 Douglass undergraduate mentees over the course of the academic year. This earner is prepared to communicate a mentoring philosophy and ready to support undergraduate students in aligning their scholarly, professional, and advocacy efforts with social justice values.
