Reflective Teaching

This badge is to help teachers build upon and refine teaching skills through facilitated opportunities to reflect on their practice. Teachers demonstrate capacity for planning, instructional delivery, and using assessment data while also reflecting on the research that drives their teaching decisions and the impact of their decisions on their students’ learning. A minimum of one-year of teaching experience under a NJDOE issued endorsement is required to be eligible for this badge. Earners must: -Complete three modules that foster awareness of teaching proficiency standards and require action planning for both addressing opportunity areas and amplifying areas of professional strength -Teach a minimum of ONE Year under a state-issued license. Meet 3 times annually with seasoned educators to discuss professional development. -Assemble and submit a professional portfolio examining teaching practice in the areas of planning, instruction and assessment.
